Final Fantasy brings families together in Brave Father Online: Our Story of Final Fantasy XIV! Directed by Noguchi Teruo and Yamamoto Kiyoshi, the heartwarming film stars Yoshida Kotaro (Ossan's Love) and Sakaguchi Kentaro (The 100th Love with You) as the father and son who bond through playing Final Fantasy XIV together. In order to better understand his father who seems to be hiding a secret, son Akio launches an operation to adventure through the game world with his father without revealing his identity. Through the RPG, they find common ground to rekindle their bond in the real world. Brave Father Online is inspired by a true story first shared in a blog series that went viral. The story was turned into the TV series Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light in 2017, and now a movie in 2019.
